Serving

Teamwork is really important at St Bart’s. Although we have quite a large staff we actually rely massively on volunteers who are happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.

God deliberately makes us all different, with different gifts and personalities, able to help in different ways (1 Corinthians 12 v 4-6). Often the best way to discover what gifts you have is to look for opportunities to serve, and see how it goes. Here are just a few examples of how you could help:

  • Cooking meals for families with new babies or for those who are unwell
  • Soup run for the homeless
  • International café
  • Flower arranging
  • Technical
  • Children and Youth – this involves ‘safe recruitment’ including an enhanced DBS
  • Welcome and hospitality
  • Transport
  • Music
  • Financial
  • Gardening
  • Maintenance

Once you have settled at St Bart’s do have a word with a church leader or the church office about getting involved.
