Seniors

Friends and Neighbours

A group for seniors from our St Bart’s Oldfield and St Bart’s Riverside congregations and beyond. The group usually meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 2.30pm in the Church Centre, apart from January and February when we meet at the earlier time of 1pm and enjoy a soup and roll lunch together before our activity.

Most meetings have an invited speaker covering a variety of topics that range from serious to humorous, local to global and passive listening to active engagement. From time to time, we enjoy the talents of local singing groups. The session usually starts with a short reflection followed by the invited speaker and every session ends with tea and home-made cakes, courtesy of our catering team.

At Christmas and just before we break for the summer holidays, we have a special celebration tea!

We will be delighted to welcome newcomers. Please contact the Church Office for details. A subscription of £3.00 a session helps to cover our speaker costs. The sessions are run by a small but dedicated team co-ordinated by Naomi Pauley.

Friends and Neighbours Plus

Friends and Neighbours Plus meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month, from 2.30 to 4pm in the Church Centre. Each afternoon we revisit an old, familiar hymn to explore the good news of Jesus. A friendly group that welcomes everyone of any faith background or none, including tea, cake and time for chat. There is no charge for this event.
